Sony SxS memory card hire

SxS is Sony's professional memory card format, shaped like an oversized ExpressCard slot-in unit and built for broadcast workloads. SxS ProX cards add blistering transfer speeds — up to 10Gbps, offloading 240GB of video in around three and a half minutes — which is why they remain the workhorse media on Sony XDCAM camcorders and the FS7 family in busy production environments.

SxS cards are the native media for Sony's XDCAM broadcast camcorders and the popular PXW-FS7 and FS7 II documentary cameras. Capacities run from 64GB for shorter pieces up to 240GB for long-form recording. If you tell us which camera and format you're shooting, we'll confirm the right card and quantity before you hire.

Sony's newer cameras have moved to CFexpress Type A and AXS media, but the FS7 and XDCAM line-ups are still in daily service across the industry — and they need genuine SxS cards to record. If your production mixes camera generations, we hire SxS alongside CFexpress Type A, SDXC and everything else, so one order covers every slot on set.

Call or email with your camera, shoot dates and how much recording time you need. We'll recommend the right capacity and quantity, send a quote, and ship the cards to you. Card readers are available on request.
